Slow Burn The Fitzgerald Family E B Walters Books

I really wanted to like this book. But between all the errors and inconsistencies, I finally gave up just about halfway through. I mean, really...Ashley is written as supposedly being and elegant, wealthy woman with superior taste. So why is she pulling a bottle of Merlot out of the refrigerator? Merlot is never to be served chilled. It may seem small to others, but if you're going to write a character, KNOW your character.

Slow Burn The Fitzgerald Family E B Walters Books Reviews

Ashley Fitzgerald was in a deadly fire at the Carlyle House 10 years ago. Since then, she has tried to put the past behind her. Now a successful photographer and artist, she almost thought she had. When the handsome man first came to the door, she thought he was her model, and asked him to strip. He finally managed to explain himself before he had all of his clothes off, but she still wanted to paint him for her erotic series. He had new clues about the fire; he had letters that eluded the dead firefighter had had nothing to do with the arson, and there were photographs from the day of the fire--pictures that she had taken. Once over the shock, she was just as committed as he was.

A wealthy businessman, Ronald Noble has achieved what he wanted. The jet, clothes, and the women meant little. What he really wanted was justice for his father; he knew in his heart that his father had been a good man. Now he had the means to support his efforts to prove it. He hoped the letters and the photographs would help get the case reopened. He knows there is much more going on than what he's seeing. Agreeing to help Ashley in her quest to remember the real events of the fire is only the first step in his quest. He knows once she finds out who he really is, she won't help him any longer.

Every time she and Ron uncover another name to interview about the fire, that person vanishes. With people either dying or disappearing right and left, Ashley finally decides she wants help remembering, and contacts her therapist. With a cold-blooded villain on the loose, she knows they need the answers sooner rather than later.

Not only a first class romantic suspense/thriller, this is a great romance; the two are meshed almost seamlessly. Ms. Walters does an excellent job of keeping you on the edge of your seat, wondering if the villain's next strike will come too close to home. The romance builds realistically and the chemistry is worthy of a fire itself. Get caught up in the flames and let yourself get singed (in a positively good way!). I read this in one sitting...just had to finish it. Very highly recommended!
I spent my time wondering if I was reading the same book as the other reviewers. I really struggled to read it. I found nothing interesting about the main characters, I thought the chemistry was missing between the h/H and I thought the author introduced way too many characters into the story. I know that this is a series, but some of the other characters could have been introduced in the next book. Sometimes the story seemed all over the place too. I liked the idea of the book, but the execution did not work for me.
s one of my very first reviews I was hoping to leave an exciting one but alas I must admit that I found this book to be "average" and thus one I would not recommend to friends due to the under developed characters, lack of charisma in characters, and slow moving plot.

Ron Noble a firefighter and billionaire starts receiving anonymous letters regarding a fire 10 years ago that his father was involved in and loss his life to. Ashley who was a witness and survivor to this fire who lost both her parents and has supressed her memories due to the trauma is the first place Ron starts his investigation at. Sparks fly, no pun intended, when they meet and thus a love story amid a mystery of who done it proceeds.

I found the plot to be slow moving and unfortunately took me more than a week to get through as I chose to play 1010 on my mobile app instead of reading the book(and I don't even like phone games). I felt the author included a bunch of extraneous characters without really developing them that were unnecessary and not interesting. The poor editing was distracting and furthered my lack of interest.

On a positive note, the title was right on and the intimacy scenes were well written and of course held my interest(wink wink). The picture on the title somehow did not match up to my idea of what Ashley would/should look like. I read this is one of the authors first works and I have already read Impulse and Indulge from her(Infinitus Billionaire series) and found them much better and would definitely refer these to friends!
slow burn was an exciting book to read. I could not stop reading it.
