The Boy Next Door Annabelle Costa 9780985826307 Books Reviews

The story follows the friendship of beautiful and sexy Tasha and her best friend Jason, who happens to be wheelchair bound since a childhood accident. It follows the friends from childhood into adulthood, where the author gives the reader a glimpse into the sometimes heartbreaking prejudices society has about people with disabilities. I feel that I gained quite a bit of insight from reading this story, it helped me grow in awareness and empathy with this knowledge. The book is explicit in sexual content and I typically read Christian romance, so it's not my cup of tea, but, it was a good romantic story.
A love story, well written and Altho pretty predictable it is still fun. I enjoyed the fact that the characters were not God and goddess.
This was truly an enjoyable read. I recently read the story The Broken Path, where the male lead also had a disablility and it was also a wonderful story; but this one had a special humor that literally had me laughing out loud. The author did a wonderful job of making Jason lovable, strong and vulnerable all at the same time. As a matter of fact, the focus was not on his disability, but on the ability to make you fall for him. Tasha was the one he always wanted, but boy did it take her a minute to figure out her own mind and heart. This is a precious story that I would recommend any time you need a smile and a good laugh!
Though this earlier book of Costa's is not as deft, masterful, and intrinsically hilarious as her more recent books, this romcom is a charming and delightful read. In inimitable Costa fashion, this book gives us a hero that will sweep you away and make you love him. I looked forward to getting back to this story every time I put it down. Mmmm...can't wait to read even more of Costa books.
Ok, I am a sucker for these kind of books. The couple that just doesn't make sense? Yep, sign me up.

This one, it was definitely one of those books, and I fell totally in love with this book!

Tasha and Jason have been friends since he moved in next door. They just seem to work together. But the odd thing is that Jason is in a wheel chair.

But, as high school will happen, things go awry, and they drift apart and then come back together as adults. Tasha is intent on finding the love of her life and Jason seems to have someone as well, but maybe everything isn't lost!

The book wasn't perfect, it had its moments when I was kind of hanging in there, but overall, I adored this book and really was pulling for these crazy kids to get together!
I really was not a fan of this book and the style of writing from this author. I didn't like the hero or heroine and didnt feel any connection to the characters because they both seemed like flaky and aloof characters. The heroine was totally annoying and an idiot and I could not see why the hero would be so in love with her. And he's a dope for being so weak for her.
I downloaded this book for free back in Jan of this year, and yes I just read it. I wasn't sure because of the cover, so I was hesitant, this is why it took so long. I am so glad that I took the leap and read it. Yes, some parts are funny, but that isn't what made the story. It had a lot of emotion. Can you imagine being in love with someone from afar knowing that the other person is your best friend? Hump, Tasha is a little bit of a player with all the guys, does what she wants when she wants and her best friend is Jason and is wheelchair bound. They have known each other since they were 8 years old. Through all of the guys Tasha had been with Jason still loved her unconditionally, still supported her in all of her decisions, until she is engaged to the wrong person. I don't want to give too much away, and hopefully I didn't. All I can say is that not everything is wrapped up in a pretty package.
There were no spelling errors or grammatical errors. There was a beginning a middle and a conclusion. I will say however the book cover shouldn't have a cartoon characters on it. That's just my opinion.
